When you’re deciding to replace your roof, consider Armour ribbed metal roof panels. These panels are widely used because they’re high-quality and affordable. Their unique design gives them added strength, too. Find out when to use these panels and how they differ from other metal roof panels.

Ribbed Metal Roof Panels

Ribbed metal roof panels have sloping sides that form trapezoidal-shaped voids at the side lap. The ribs on these panels create strong, bold lines that not only look good but are also durable and versatile. These panels can be used for siding as well.

Unlike ribbed metal roof panels, corrugated metal roofing and exposed-fastener metal panels are commonly used because they’re inexpensive and easy to install. However, they’re not very durable and should be used on agricultural applications only.

Mechanically seamed metal roofing panels are also available, which have to be crimped or folded together to create a watertight seam between the sheets. They work great in low-slope applications but are not usually found on residences. Instead, these panels are primarily for commercial or industrial applications.

When You Should Use Ribbed Metal Roof Panels

Ribbed metal roof panels are great for both residential and commercial buildings. They’re durable and work well in areas with heavy rain, wind, and snow. With the right underlayment, they provide optimal fire protection.

Another benefit is the architectural design—on suitable houses, ribbed metal roof panels offer an aesthetically pleasing look. It’s also a great choice for carports and walkway canopies due to its cantilever and spanning capabilities.
